Describe how technology resources are used to support formal professional development activities:
1) I took MOOCs related to the field of teaching and education.
They are:
  •  Shaping the Way We Teach Part 1 on Coursera.
  • Implementation and Evaluation of Educational Technology.
  • Design and Development for Games for Learning
  • Academic and Business Writing
  • Design and Development of Educational Technology.
2)I sometimes attend webinars. The best webinars I took were on Oxford University Press and on Macmillian.
3)I have blogs. These are their links:

List the steps you will take to increase or improve the use of technology resources to support formal professional development activities:
  1. I will create an e-potfolio.
  2. I will join Acedemia.edu.
  3. I will improve the looks of my blogs.
  4. I will write more posts.
  5. I will work on improving my linked in account.

  1. I take webinars.
  2. I use technology to enhance my work, improve the quality of my teaching.
  3. I help others through my blog.

Would your current technology skills allow you to participate successfully in technology-supported professional development activities?
Rating Scale: (3).
Have you successfully participated in technology-supported professional development activities? Yes. I have taken MOOCs as I denoted. I took an online training course with the university of Oregon and another namely Stress Management with Cairo University.
Describe your previous experience with technology supported professional development activities?
  • I took MOOCs which really helped me improve my teaching methods.
  • I also took 2 online training courses. They helped me to understand the value of internet resources, teaching forums, the use of discussion treads to enhance education and the difference between face to face and online education.
List the steps you will take to increase your current technology skills or increase or improve your participation in technology-supported professional development.
  • I will take more MOOCs to really master going around the steps of the platforms giving MOOCs.
  • I will try my hand more on google forms and google docs.
  • I will try to create a personal website.
  • I will try to incorporate more technology in my teaching style. 
 As for Use of technology resources to engage in ongoing professional development and lifelong learning:
  • I am interested and use technology for professional development.
  • I take MOOCs.
  • I attend webinars.
  • I use internet resources to help me develop professionally and her do my work duties.
  • I enhance my productivity via using technology as I use and reuse google docs I do, google forms, and the website for testing English to diagnose my students level.
As for the next steps:
  1. I will choose new MOOCs to enhance my teaching abilities.
  2. I will take online courses with the American Chamber in Egypt.
  3. I will try to create online training for my colleagues.
  4. I will put my resources and my work online.
As for the people I would work with:
  1. Dr. Shawky, the head of the English department.
  2. Dr. Abdel Attay head of the humanities department.
I will know this step is achieved when:
  • I use technology tools fully to enhance my educational and professional opportunities. 
  • I incorporate technology in my teaching on continuous bases.
As for the timeline:
  1. January till march 2016. I will watch seminars and try new tools.
  2. Late January attend Nile Tesol.
  3. Early march attend Tesol Arabia.
As for the V.B. Continually evaluate and reflect on professional practice to make informed decisions regarding the use of tech. in support of student learning.
My rate is often. I believe I need to increase it to always. I will know this step is a achieved if I traced my use of technology for professional development and practice using technology on daily bases.

Describe how you evaluate and reflect upon the decisions you’ve made regarding the use of technology in support of student learning after the lesson is taught:
I see how many students did the assignments.
I created a Mid Term evaluation Survey for the Technology.
I am working on a technology survey that I will use at the beginning of the term to judge how things will go before introducing the use of technology in education.
I will continue using technology but will learn from my past experiences.
 

List the steps you will take to increase or improve the reflection you do after a lesson is taught:
I will go and fill the lesson reflection template on e-portfolio.com.
I will administer questionnaires every 4 or 5 lectures to see how things are going.
I will ask students to bring e-resources.
